Anchored in Hope: Growing the Future of Catholic Education in Montevallo
When St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School opened its doors in Montevallo last fall, it welcomed 13 students and a community filled with hope.
As the first new Catholic school in the Diocese of Birmingham in 25 years, St. Thomas represents more than a new educational option for families. It reflects a growing desire for faith-filled learning environments where students are known, challenged, and supported both academically and spiritually.
That growth is already taking shape.
Families are expressing interest in future grade levels and expanded programs as the school continues building momentum in its inaugural years. For many parents, St. Thomas offers something they have been searching for — a school grounded in Catholic values with a strong commitment to academic excellence and community.
Making that opportunity accessible for more families is only possible because of donor support.
Through Alabama tax credit scholarship opportunities, donors can redirect a portion of their Alabama state tax liability to help expand access to Catholic education for students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend. These contributions help schools like St. Thomas continue growing while helping families find the right educational fit for their children.
The impact reaches far beyond a single school year. Every donation helps strengthen the foundation of a school that is working to serve more students, expand opportunities, and build a lasting presence in the Montevallo community.
As enrollment interest continues to grow, so does the opportunity to invest in the future of Catholic education in Alabama.
